Help

  • As the Deputy Vice President (DVP) of Office of Foreign Policy (OFP), you will provide input and advice on a wide range of foreign policy issues, assuming responsibility for ensuring appropriate DFC responses and leadership for special activities, and representing the Chief Executive Officer's (CEO) views, goals and preferences to staff, external stakeholders, other agencies and especially other Administration officials.
  • Recommend action by the VP of OFP, Chief of Staff, Deputy CEO or the CEO, including signing of documents, memoranda, letters and position papers responding to general or specific questions from within and outside of DFC.
  • Represent the CEO and works with key agency personnel to integrate department and special project objectives with DFC's strategic goals and priorities of the CEO.
  • Manage the OFP, the Corporation's foreign policy team, day-to-day.
  • Share in the responsibility as the direct manager of the Managing Directors (MD) on the team, implementing the guidance and vision of the VP.
  • Serve as the liaison and agency representative with other government and public and private organizations for the purpose of sharing information, representing DFC's foreign policy equities, developing collaborative efforts and jointly addressing issues of mutual interest.

Qualifications

Status candidates must meet time-in-grade requirements (52 weeks at the next lower grade level). Applicants must meet all eligibility and qualification requirements no later than the closing date of this announcement.

TIME-IN-GRADE
: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b).

You may qualify at the GS-15 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirements: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service that includes working across agencies, foreign and domestic, to advance foreign policy and/or US. Government initiatives on political, economic, and/or national security issues.

Note: Education is not substitutional at this grade level.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
